In the Spirit of legendary gold rush born on the mighty rivers of our Golden State of California, we off Rio d’Oro, or River of Gold. Brewed with Belgian pilsner and caramel malts, Styrian Golding hops and Belgian yeast from East Flanders, this tresure glitters with aromas of tropical fruits and dry effervescent finish. A shining nugget to add to your cache, Rio d’Oro is truly worth its weight in gold.

    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 8

Sampled on 2/12/2013. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent lacing and good retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet, yeasty and spicy. A medium bodied Belgian Golden Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, with some orange, pineapple and tropical. The hops are citrusy and spicy. Decent carbonation. Fruity and spicy. Lots of flavors going on here, fruity, estery, spicy and some yeasts. Hides the alcohol very well. Very easy drinking. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
