Our Belgian IPA was oaked on freshly emptied Napa Valley Zinfandel barrels, and pours an orangish, ruby color with an aroma of honey and vanilla from the oak as well as a distinct citrus zest from the Belgian yeast. The hops lend a moderate balancing bitterness with floral and grassy aromas. Oak comes through again with a unique red wine-like finish that keeps you coming back for more.

Comes out of the tap a rather hazy chestnut with a thick and fine-bubbled buff head. Aroma has malty, oak and red wine notes plus a citrus overtone. Flavor has delightful wine-soaked wood, orange, caramel, earthy, malty and evergreen hoppy notes. Firm texture is quite fizzy, and each swallow seems slightly different - one is more hoppy, one more oaky, et cetera. Bravo, Ringmaster!
