Harveys first brewed and bottled Bonfire Boy as a tribute to the emergency services, following the fire in July 1996 which destroyed the brewery shop and offices. Bonfire Boy on draught is now established as part of our "seasonal brews" and is available every November. As well as providing a continuing tribute to the emergency services the name of the brew and timing of its availability provide a close link with the extensive bonfire celebrations which take place in Sussex in the Autumn. A strong ale brewed to an original gravity of 1066° give an alcohol by volume of 5.8%. The brew has a subtle smoky character.
