Theodorus ca.1166-1236 founder of the Stichter van de orde van de Kruisheren orde. Theodorus is a lovely abbey dubbel brewed from hops and roasted barley. Best served in a Kruisheren glass from the Ter Apel monastry. (translated from backlabel)

Pours out in a clear dark brown colour with a rich tan-coloured foam. Yeast, nuts, toffee and gooseberries in the aroma. Rather clean flavour of milky chocolate, nuts and neutral yeast. Spicy and yeasty finish.

Bottled. Dark ruby brown colour iwth huge foamy brown head. Leaves nice lace. Aroma is sweet malts, with some red currant and mild spices. Flavour is slightly roasted malts along with some mild red berries and slight caramel. Watery and quite empty.
