As I upload this review, this beer has been brewed for 32 years. It still isn’t very good. It pours a light rust color, topped with a white head that sometimes stays a while, and sometimes disappears in a handful of seconds. The aroma is cereal malt, light caramel, weak citrus, and floral hops. Mouthfeel is watery to average. Flavor tends to be weak caramel notes supported by weak citrus. Definitely a malty bitter.

Got this at Rogers Market. Poured a nedium amber with a good malty aroma and taste with an appropriate amount of hops. I found this to be very drinkable, and most enjoyable

Cask conditioned at the GBBF 2008. ABV was 4.8%. Deep golden to amber colour. Nice fruity hops in the aroma. Decent hops in the flavour too, notes of blackcurrant leaves.

My first Gritty's brew, which I enjoyed in York, Maine. Poured a clear amber colour with a decent sized off white head. Aroma is a battle between sweet and hopped. Taste is initially sweet but tapers off into a pleasently mild bitter flavor. Taste is moderately carbonated, fruit forward and not overly acidic. Decent beer :)

My standard "go-to" beer, whenever I happen to be at either the Gritty's Freeport location (1-2 times a year), or the Gritty's Portland location (a bit less often). This especialy true since I tend to gravitate towards whatever they happen to have off the hand-pump (which more often than not is the Best Bitter).
Anyway, this is a good Session Beer, without a doubt. Perhaps a little on the dull side, if you were to drink this all night long . But for a few quick pints after work, or with a bowl of chowder, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better fit, me'thinks. Nice aroma, appealing flavor profile, with enough girth to take notice, but no so much so that you feel you have to struggle against the mouthfeel. Nicely drinkable, while reading the paper as the sun goes down in Southern Maine, or wherever else you happen to find yourself with this beer. Recommended.

This Bitter Ale from a great brew pub has a golden amber color with a med thick head. the malty aroma is sweet and fruity. the flavor is sweet and malty and turns slightly bitter and hoppy. the finish is dry and hoppy.
