2012 Limited Release. Barrel Aged. The typical Barley Wine may find its origins in English Ale, but there's nothing typical about this special brew. Aged in bourbon barrels, you'll find strong caramel malt character, vanilla and oak flavours with a healthy dose of Pacific Northwest hops. Cellar this beer and enjoy for up to five years, but if that's too long, you can always try it tonight.

In a bomber. Pour of cloudy dark orange under a creamy ivory head. Subdued aroma for a BW, just a but of malt. Terrific mouthfeel, buttery smooth and rich. Flavour outshone the aroma, lots of malt plus an obvious alcohol burn, plus more alcohol in the aftertaste, Best offering GI has had in quite some time. Please make this one all year 'round!
