This high-gravity beer was the first release off our Psycho Brew small batch system. Demand dictated that we release this dark beauty year-round. Castle Stormer is as much a GFB ritual as it is a beer. Our brewers begin the process toasting with two authentic Highland Quaichs ("The Cup of Friendship"). Next, we add Hebridean Toffee sourced from our friends at Heart Hebrides in Castlebay, Isle of Barra, Scotland. During fermentation, we bring a piper from Asheville onsite to infuse and layer in bagpipe harmonics. Next, a 1716 Bible from Edinburgh, Scotland rests against the tank during final fermentation. Our brewers conclude the ritual by toasting with two Scottish Highland Cattle Horn beer cups, one dating to 1840-1850, the other to 1910. On the palate, this smooth ale is smoke and toffee, a fine tribute to one of our owners who is of Clan MacNeil heritage hailing from Barra.
