Based on a classic Belgian beer, Bastogne is a highly hopped amber beer finished with Brettanomyces. This beer showcases Opal hops with an aroma that is earthy and spicy. the hop presence continues into the flavor with a bit of grassiness supported by a biscuity and slightly sweet caramel malt flavor. A lingering bitterness and dry finish yields a very drinkable beer. Brett character will continue to evolve over time as this beer matures.

Sampled at Funkwerks on 9/30/2012. This Belgian ale pours a medium dark orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is caramel, fruity, grassy, yeasty and slightly bretty. A medium bodied Belgian Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are earthy and spicy, a touch grassy as well. Nice mild lingering hoppiness with a touch of nice malt sweetness at the finish. A touch of brett, this beer is very dry. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and sweet. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
