The 2013 Vintage Ale, our 17th edition, is brewed with four of this year''s finest hop varieties: Goldings, Sovereign, Challenger and the trophy-winning Admiral. With a dry spring and wet summer, we have chosen a winter barley which, when combined with our unique yeast, gives a rich and complex result. This is an excellent beer that is only available as a limited release of individually packaged and numbered bottles. We''ve added a best before date of 31st December 2023 as this mellow golden ale will improve with age for many years to come, like a fine wine or whisky. Being bottle conditioned, the beer will form a natural sediment, so pour carefully, sit back and enjoy the very finest of Fuller''s ales.

Bottle #026249. Cloudy bronze colour. Even with a vigorous pour it has a very short lived head and no lacing. Appearance is a let down but not the rest. Aroma is fruity, caramel malt and yeast. Dark fruits galore in the flavour. Also caramel, spice, toast a little bitterness and alcohol. Syrupy, sticky mouthfeel and dry finish.

The beer pours a hazed burnt orange colour with a long lasting thin foamy tan head. The aroma is bread, caramel, yeast, and raisins. The mouthfeel is full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is an overly sweet bread pudding with notes of yeast, grains, raisins, and caramel.
