Warm sun, a cool breeze and a comfortable chair with an ocean view… are not prerequisites for enjoying Coastline, but they help. Gooseberry, lactose and fresh vanilla pods create a beer that is lightly sour with sweet notes from the vanilla, fruity tartness from the gooseberry, and hoppy notes from plentiful amounts of Citra hop. An everyday sour. Contains: Barley, Lactose (Milk), Oats, Wheat This beer is suitable for vegetarians.

Tall can from LCBO. Pours an average size but thick frothy white head and has a hazy orangey coloured appearance. Some decent sticky lacing. Aromas of berries, citrusy and grassy hops, some mild vanilla notes. Flavours of various berries, some subtle vanilla notes in the finish. Lots of citrus notes as well as grassy and herbal hops. Some mild sourness on the palate, not overly offensive, just sour enough.

The beer pours a slightly hazed golden orange colour with a thin white film for a head. The aroma is fruity and grainy with hunts of musty hops and funky yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, puckering with average carbonation. The flavour is very tart, with hints of grains and a bitter finish. I’ve had gooseberry jam a few times, and this beer brings back those memories….they’re not good ones! -

Can that pours a slight hazed golden colour with an amber hue. The warm cap is kind of creamy, long lasting with a little spots of lacing. Nicely dry-hopped in the nose with some light sourness, fruitiness from the gooseberries with hints of cilantro. The taste is where the sourness shows more, lasting the whole time. The gooseberries are present. Gets hazier at last pour. Not feeling much of the lactose and vanilla, but mainly fruity and sour. Not bad for that.
