This one is near and dear to our hearts. Brewmaster Jeremy Kosmicki wanted to make the birthday of his little sister, Liz, a special one. So he did what he does best and brewed a stout using a few of her favorite ingredients: fresh Michigan blueberries, rich chocolate and vanilla aged in bourbon barrels to round out those beautiful flavors. Liz was floored and we think you will be too.

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Pitch black colour, moderate tan head. Enticing aroma, roast malts, chocolate, vanilla and bourbon. Can’t say I can detect the blueberries. In the flavour the blueberries come through quite distinctly though, with a fruitiness that meets the sweetness of the malts. The expected notes of chocolate, vanilla and bourbon are there, but more in the background. Too sweet and fruity for an imperial stout? Perhaps, but this is a great beer anyway.

Pours opaque coffee brown with a thick, frothy, persistent tan head - as a stout should. Blueberry (and do I love blueberries!) leads the parade of aromas, followed by chocolate, roast malt, bourbon, wood and vanilla, with a hint of dark fruit. Rich flavor delivers blueberry, vanilla, roast malt, bourbon, chocolate, and a little bit of coffee for a stout that is dessert in a bottle. Drink this one s-l-o-w-l-y. Mouthfeel is the weakest point, but it ain’t really week - just good body and fizz, not outstanding.

Good looking dark brown pour with a lasting dense brown foam head. Oily lacing. Light roast and red berry aroma. Flavour is sweet with mild roasted malt. Very wine like. Sweet milk chocolate , tart red and black berries, vanilla and just a hint of bourbon. Full slick mouthfeel. Flavours are all over the place and not well balanced. Way over priced

This poured out really black with a nice thick head. The aroma was pretty interesting. The taste was interesting at the beginning. However it was just to sweet for my taste.
