California Common Ale (aka Steam Ale) – Brewed by the early German settlers in California, this beer is fermented using a Lager yeast but fermenting at the low end of ale fermentation techniques. Nice malty caramel flavor balanced with the Northern Brewer hop for lightly hopped beer with a crisp lager finish. 5.8% ABV. The story behind the name: An homage to the railroad heritage connecting all points in Eastern Canada where trains where shunted and assembled to all destinations.
