Style-Experimental no known style...A blend of Pullman Brown ale and Old Conundrum Barley Wine aged 11 months in a Jack Daniels Barrel. Hints of molasses, sweet caramel and Jack Daniels. This beer is not fortified in any manner. This beer's name is Trainwreck of Flavor so coined by Fred Eckhardt, noted beer critic. One time aging project probably not repeated.

I think they called this Runaway Train at Border Beer Bust, but the description is word-for-word the same. Interesting beer, this one. The mixture is a bit odd. I'm guessing the extremely dark brown comes from the Pullman Brown, or their barleywine is just crazy dark for the style. There's really too much going on here for me to pinpoint everything. There's plenty of malts, anise, chocolate, tobacco, vanilla, whiskey and more in there, but I wonder if this "Train Wreck" could be tweak so that the flavors meld better. As it is, you can't keep your footing in the flavor.
