Kolsch is a light ale fermented with a special ale yeast strain that is capable of fermentation at lager temperatures. As with most lager styles, Kolsch is light in body and pale golden in color. The beer has a clean, crisp palate with a soft finish. Hopping is light to allow a slight hop flavor and subtle spiceness from the Styrian Golding and German Tettnang hops. The ABV is 4.2% and hop bitterness is 20BU's.
