I am a BIG fan of Buffalo Trace bourbon, and this bee, while still very good, makes me respect the amazing Grand Cru and Elijah Craig 18/20 yr blends even more. This was not quite in their league. Simpler, and a touch sweeter, with loads of vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and a good touch of booze, atop a bed of roasted malts. LOVE all the variations of this stout - so much fun!

Perfect near black brown pour with a lasting 1/2" brown head and thick lacing. Sweet cocoa, coffee, vanilla and cream with a soothing wood and whiskey accent. Exceptionally smooth and rich with soft finish. Easy to sip on with a medium to full malt body.

Had about a month back and also at the JK party .. . Pours a deep brown black .. good pure bourbon, light wood, tar, and charcoal .. . silky stuff, a year or two wouldn't hurt .. . The reception is terrible in here. I can't tell if Gilligan got off the island or the Pistons are about to score.
