Dec. 2013: Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. Cloudy brown colour, huge off-white head. Sweetish aroma of old jam, malts, herbal hops and oak. The flavour is medium sweet and vinous, notes of raisins and oak.

WOWOOWWOWOWOOWW, one of my absolute favourite beers got better! It is all the exciting tropical hops, big farmhouse scandanavian character, bitterness, sent to prep school and graduated as a rugged, sophisticated, smooth and charming brew. I feel some of the malo-lactics from the chard must have made its way into the bottle that I am drinking. On the tounge it is light bodied, but has this velvet smooth wash that covers everything. All the flavours are exquisite and distinct, pineapple, currant, "goose-berry", white cranberry, figs baked into bread. The flavours are also strong but in no way do they cause you to recoil in any way. Beautiful. One of the finest beers I have ever drank, turned into something event more grand.

Takes on a reddish hue, looking a lot like a barley wine. Tropical hops still shine, and the barrel softens this beer up soooo much. Fruity slightly Sweet and still finishing bitter. Better even than the gold cap.
