One of the best microbrews I've ever bought. Lovely color and aroma with no bitter aftertaste. It's best from a glass, with a few slices of super-sharp Vermont cheddar cheese. The bottle art is unsurpassed IMHO!

Pours an amberish color. Smell is sweet and malty. Taste is a malt bomb, some sweetness, very refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer.

pours a nice dark amber color, with a small quickly disappearing white head. a nice aroma of caramel and hops arise from the glass, but the taste doesn't quite live upto the billing. Overall the beer was kind of bland, needs a little more flavor.

Average across the board, at least the bottle I drank. Richly malty and sweet, but little to distinguish it as a a Scotch ale. Dark amber in the glass, with a thin ivory head. A slight hop bite on the tongue, and no smokiness noted. I prefer several other Scotch ales over this one. Neat name and label art though.

Aroma is crisp, more fruity than malty, and just a bit sweet. It pours a nice dark orange amber with a rather persistent off-white head. Flavor is malty and somewhat spicy, mainly cinnamon, with a fruity hint. Texture is quite fizzy and tingly, lively and sassy.

Pours a deep mahagony - clear - with a thin head that produces great lacing. Purchased as a part of the suite of brews from this newcomer to my local scene. Sligthly thin in the mouth... a little sweeter than I typically like, but still tasty none-the-less. Very decent brew.

Pours a dark amber colour with a soft creamy beige top. Aroma is very pleasent. Noticeable peat, some smoke and caramel notes are forward on the nose. Taste is light, suprised me actually. Thought it might be a wee bit heavier. Ah! get it- "wee bit"? Maybe im thinking of a scotch though. Taste has some pleasent sweetness, some syrupy notes but overall fairly light.

I picked this based strictly on the label, and was not disappointed. It pours a clear reddish brown with a thin head. The aroma is caramel malts with some hoppish notes. The flavour has hints of sweet malt, butterscotch, and maple syrup followed by a slightly bitter finish.

Not bad for a scottish ale. Hazy golden color with a thin with head. Tasted pretty bland, but more drinkable than other scottish ales I've tried.
