Einstök Icelandic Wee Heavy is a Scotch Ale brewed with handpicked angelica and birch-smoked Icelandic barley. It will be sold year-round in 330ml bottles and on draft in various keg sizes. It is available now in Iceland and will be launched in Europe in the next few weeks. It will be available in the United States in early 2017. Viking history in Scotland goes back a thousand years. Even our brewmaster studied in Edinburgh, where he carefully surveyed the local brew. Now we return with an Icelandic Scotch Ale, brewed with locally farmed and smoked barley and spiced with native Icelandic angelica – a fabled herb ancient Vikings used as currency. Surrender your taste buds. They have no choice but to be conquered.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Dark brown colour, moderate to small off-white head. Aroma of malts, minimal smoke, hints of angelica root. Moderately sweet and malty flavour, very moderate smoke, fairly distinct angelica.

Pours clear sepia with a thick and frothy buff head. Aroma features roast malt, caramel, earthy and subtle woody tones. Flavor gives rich caramel, toffee, roast malt, woody and earthy tones - quite enjoyable! Texture offers firm body, lively fizz, and a woody and caramel finish. Not wee, but heavy.
