... and i was going to buy that ivory back scratcher .. thanks for the bottle Mr Lou K .. . Pours a dark prune, low foam .. . as i poured noticed quite a lot of sediment, so i just through back the last 1-2 inches of liquid .. . light cola, sweet malts, molasses, and dimoxinil .. . delicious playful sweetness with a slight brown tartness, good stuff.. . why don't you just call the pharmacy??
    because i don't have a 1000 bucks!!!

Interesting brew from Blue Lou: Pours a clear amber with a big white frothy head. Aroma is fruity. Like cherries, apples, raspberries on their way to fermentation. Taste is what I'm confused about. While it's supposed to be a scottish, the taste was very sour, like a sour beer would be. May have been something bad with the bottle because I'm sure it's not supposed to taste like that. I will have to give this one another shot. Thanks Lou!

courtesy of bluesandbarbq - nice looking cloudy ruby brown ale. smoke in the aroma with some fruity maltiness. smooth body as well, but the flavor was a bit of a hybrid of styles, although i'd guess unintentionally. the fruitiness from the malt was cool, but there was the (sometimes present in scottish ales) lemony astringency that took away from the flavor of the peet and smoke. the aftertaste was both scottish ale and a weak attempt at a sour. possibly oxidized?? i've had occasional bottles of Sacsquatch & Kilt Lifter's that had a similar aspect as well-but never on tap.

A nice Scottish Ale, courtesy of bluesandbarbq. Pours from the bottle a hazy deep amber color, with an effervescent tan head. Aromas of light roasted malt and dark fruit, with just a hint of piney smokiness. Lightly sweet and spritely on the palate, with the peated malt softly making its presence known upfront. Flavors of mellow malt contrast with subtle hop sharpness, melding into an extended mildly-sweet fruity finish. Good example of the complexity that a seemingly simple beer can display when it's this finely crafted.

Pours a medium reddish-brown with an ample head. Some carbonation evident. Aroma of toasted malts with some hops and smokiness in the background. A little sweet but nice balance with the toasted malts and hops, with more malts and a hint of smoked peat. A good ale from one of the few local breweries in east Tennessee.
