To be pragmatic, one must handle a problem practically rather than theoretically. The brewers in Plze? during the 19th century were faced with a problem; How could they compete with the increasing popularity of pale ales sweeping through Europe? Instead of theorizing, they combined the unique local water chemistry with the native Saaz hops and thus the Pilsner was born. We challenged our brewers to create a crafted lager which is approachable to new beer drinkers and complex to the more experienced palate. Using the unique water from the foothills of the Rockies, the finest Alberta grains and a carefully selected quantity of Saaz hops, Delta’s Pragmatic Pilsner was born; problem solved! Pairs well with cheddar cheese, chicken dishes, salmon and salads.
