An oak-aged bitter beer. Originally the beer had a slight citrus-bitterness due to its 4 hops and the subsequent dry hopping. The beer is acidified while it ripens for 4 months in oak wine casks. The daring bitter-sour combination is moderated by this ripening process and as a consequence it is a very pleasant drinking beer. The label was designed by Rik Vermeersch; based on a work of José Vermeersch

Pours a clean amber colour with a big frothy-creamy off-white head, good retention and thick creamy lacing. Sour nose with some fruitiness (grapes, apples, gooseberries) and some mild old vinegars. The taste starts off sour and stays for a while, finishing with some light tart on the tongue. Apple notes and vinegar again. Goes down smoothly with a hint of oak wood.

The beer pours a murky honey gold colour with a generous light tan coloured head which lasts a while. The aroma is definitely Belgian eith notes of yeast, funky grains, vinegar, and light apple notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with above average carbonation. The pr4imary flavour is the oak, followed by light fruit notes, yeast, and grains. You can’t smell or taste the alcohol , but you can definitely feel it go down your throat. A good beer.
