We've brewed this beer as close to a true Belgian recipe as you can without being a Monk. This beer is deceiving although it is light in color it is a full bodied beer. The flavors are of light fruit and malt with residual sweetness and very little hop presence.

Pours a very murky orange color with tons of sediment and not much of a head, and pretty much no lacing. The aroma has a lot of grapey smells. Secondary aromas consist of alcohol and malts, and maybe a touch of bananas as well. The taste wham. The alcohol's not shy in this beer, as it hits me hard up front and on the finish. Initial taste is sweet with the fruits, and the finish is a bit bitter with some malts and the alcohol I mentioned. The mouthfeel is full and just a bit syrupy.

12 oz bottle, mine said 9.5% alcohol. Very nice color, spicy in the aroma.Spices in the flavor, and a very bready thick beer.Alcohol warming note throughout the glass. But not alcohol taste in a bad way.A nice beer all around.

12 fl. oz. bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is not mentioned on the label. Murky brownish colour, moderate to low white head. Strong sweetish aroma with notes of white candi sugar; Belgian ale yeast and various spices. Moderate carbonation in the glass, but enough to make the beer fresh and pleasant to drink. The flavour is not as sweet as the aroma made me fear, the sweetness is actually well balanced with a fine spiciness and distinct hops in the finish. Nice one!

Pours out in a hazy dark golden colour with a small bubbly white head. Sweet aroma dominated of marzipan and chalk with notes of figs, canned oranges and burnt sugar. Nearly full-bodied with dense sweet and bit chalky notes of marzipan, apricots, figs, brown sugar, white pepper and alcohol. Warming and a bit rough finish of alcohol, canned oranges and apricots.

Loved the label. I thought this poured a bit dark for a Belgian style tripel with it being a cloudy dark orange. The aroma was yeast, spices, malt, citrus and a hint of hops. The flavour was more of the same with a nioce balance between the citrus and the yeast, neither being that overpowering.

Rich amber/copper body with a filmy white head, some streaks of lacing around the glass present a nice look. Big, familiar Tripel aroma with plenty of candi sugar, earthy yeast and doughy malt. Nice and spicy to boot. Real smooth and well blended for this style, drinks easily with plenty of malt backbone in the body. Yeasty flavor followed by sweet, pale malts and a peppery spice. Some banana as well as a touch of honey and caramel. Good, but it’s middle of the road compared to some of the greats.

It pours a hazey orange colour, big fluffy white head, decidious fruits and very sweet. Banannas are definately prevalent and oranges or coriander, full of wheat and a little malty as well.

This one was really sweet. It poured a cloudy golden color similar to a hefeweisse. It had a small head with minin=mal retention and a sweet and very aromatic aroma.

Acquired through trade with CJ at Siciliano's Market, Grand Rapids, MI. Pours a hazy pale golden color with only a thin head that quickly fades away and leaves a thin ring. There's only a little lacing. Smells; I can really smell the banana and cloves, bread dough, and spices. This has a really appealling aroma. Taste; yeasty bread dough, as with the nose the bananas and cloves really come through, and it has a bit of a citrus zing to it. Slightly sweet on the finish, with just a touch of bitterness. This was much better than I had anticipated. Mouthfeel was was full, and just a bit syrupy. Really good beer.
