Reunion 1st Solera Vintage is a beautiful blend of 50% Almanac 2018 Barleywine and 50% Almanac 2019 Imperial Stout. Reunion 1st Solera Vintage aged for one year in Cowbell's Reunion fermentation tank and was then hand-packed and bottle-conditioned. Reunion is a limited-edition, annual beer, released to celebrate Cowbell's Anniversary and history for years to come. It is a true representation and commemoration of the current year (in this case, 2019), while also respecting the hard work and dedication of the previous year (in this case, 2018). We invite you to taste this dark, rich, luscious 11% ABV Solera Barleywine-Imperial Stout, with flavours of cocoa, dark cherry, fudge, demerara sugar and toffee to savour and enjoy. Perfect for sharing and celebrating with family and friends. This craft beer may be enjoyed immediately, or matured in your cellar for up to ten years (upright, cool, and away from light). Best enjoyed in a chalice or snifter, and always with friends.

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 8
Written 2019 on cork, 750ml Champagne bottle with cage and foil. Very dark brown colour with hardly ruby highlights, a mocha-coloured creamy head, good retention and some patches of foam lacing. Roasted malt aroma base with molasses, mild dark fruits, some wood and herbal-licorice notes. Lots of decent bitterness in the taste, with a nice dry finish, so not too rich, nor sweet. Feels like the mouthfeel is actually pretty thin for the style. Was not expecting this much hops in this one. Some warming in the end which is great for winter, after shovelling. A good dry, bitter strong dark beer, boozy as a winter warmer.
