Another expensive brew from Dexter's but again- totally worth it. Pours a dark reddish brown colour, frothy off white head. Taste is lovely, bourbon, smoke, boozey hops underlying the flavors. Aroma is hot also, but balanced, spicey and whiskey barrel nose.

I love Buffalo Trace bourbon. That should be the whole review, but I'll expand. Didn't know this was aged in BT barrels when i bought it, but damn was i happy about it. the beer exists only to accentuate the awesomeness of buffalo trace. maybe the most bourbon prevelant beer i've had, so a bit of a one trick pony, but damn, was it tasty!

Caramel and bourbon predominate this beer and its a good combination. A big beer with lots of other underlying flavors and aroma. A nice experience to try, but with lots of booze in it you have to be careful.

Sampled on 8/20/2011. This dopplebock pours a dark amber color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is bready, fruity, caramel and sweet, some wood and bourbon. A medium bodied dopplebock. The malts are fruity and sweet, caramel, bourbon and wood. The hops are herbal and earthy. Nice carbonation, Nice bourbon flavors, boozy, woody and sweet. Barrel aging really works well in this beer. Very nice. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
