WITH LA GRISETTE, WE SAY CHEERS TO THE HARDWORKING MEN AND WOMEN OF TODAY, WHO AFTER A LONG DAY AT WORK DESERVE TO ENJOY A THIRST-QUENCHING ALE. In the late 1800s, some parts of Belgium began mining coal and a few Belgian brewers jumped at the marketing opportunity. They would brew a light, crisp and dry ale, to be served by women in grey uniforms to quench the thirst of these miners as they came up from the hot and dusty environment. Appearance: Clear golden yellow with thin bubbly head that dissipates moderately quickly. Smell: Light peach and pear Taste: Light, clean and crips Overall: The restrained malt and hop character of this beer creates great drinkability while allowing the Belgian yeast to showcase its subtle character.

Can from the brewery, forgotten in my cellar. Pours a clean, light golden-yellow colour with a big frothy white cap, good retention and creamy-foamy lacing. The smell is a nice balance of cereal malts and light spicy hops. Flavours are the same with a crisp and refreshing mouthfeel. Quite a nice grisette that reminds me of Steam Whistle and Pilsner notes.
