Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 8 | Overall: 9
750mL pours very dark with nice looking mocha head. The aroma starts prune – blueberry like and then flows into lesser notes of dark roasted malts, chocolate brownie and then a bit of booziness at the end of the draw. The taste is nice and rich with dark roasted malts heading into burnt malts as well as a mild level of prunes and blueberries. Toward midway it picks up additional notes of fudge brownie and a touch of spicy black licorice. These notes are pretty bright as compared to the Bohr version.
