Rated in Aug. 2010. Pours very dark with tight quarter inch tall dark mocha head and spotty lacing. The aroma is roasty to burnt malt with hints of bitter baker’s chocolate and rye like spiciness. The taste is similar with dark roasted to burnt malts that are being tempered by a few moments of modestly sweet slick body and creating a pleasing mild dark chocolate sense. Midway and to the finish dark roasty malts and rye spiciness dry this thing right out into the after taste. Pleasing brew with lots of rich roastiness.
