750mL bottle courtesy of Homer321. It pours with a nice dark body that supports a booming head of dark mocha colored foam. It looks this had some residual yeast in the bottle and became somewhat over carbonated. The aroma offers up baker’s chocolate, chocolate candy bar, malty sweetness and dark roasted coffee. The taste is rich and smooth (albeit a bit prickly with over carbonation) where I get a pleasing load of chocolatey goodness flowing into a mix of dark roasted malts and espresso. It gets a touch tannic and minerally here and there but that’s just off in the background. The malty sweetness conspires with the roastiness and the chocolate to create an enjoyable flavor. This should be about a 3.0 but it is getting the “homer” bump.
