750 ml capped bottle, bought at the brewery. Poured in the original Northmaen glass an unfiltered nearly opaque and extremely gushing and mid-brown coloured Old Ale with a short two fingers beige soapy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. Some lacing. The aroma is toasted malts, strong spicy, orange peels, licorice and a noticeable alcoholic sensation. The flavour is sweety toasted malts, herbal, spicy, licorice, orange peels, gingerbread, notes of honey. The mouthfeel is crispy, thick and sticky. This full bodied Old Ale has a dry spicy finish followed by the well-known warming effect. A well tasting Old Ale, but only for the late hours of a long day !
