Our flagship beer is a clean, crisp, delicately balanced beer with subtle fruitiness and a refreshing tang in the finish. Pale golden in colour and with brilliant clarity and a delicate white head, Kölsch is the lightest, driest, most crisp Ale style – sometimes mistaken for a lager or pilsner, make no mistake; Luckakuck Kölsch is as “Real Ale” as it gets. Brewed in the true ale style, using traditional ingredients, and of course, a whole lot of passion. Most everyone in Chilliwack has heard of Luckakuck Way, one of our busiest roadways, and you may even know that the street and Luckakuck Trail are named after the small creek that meanders along side the trail. But do you know what Luckakuck actually means? In the Halkomelem language, the first peoples of Chilliwack named the creek after a slippery cottonwood tree that had fallen across the creek, creating a natural foot bridge – however, attempting to traverse the great but immensely slippery log was a recipe for disaster, so they named the crossing “luckakuck”, meaning “to straddle”.
