Aka Red Ale. Pours a large frothy beige head and has an amber coppery appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Aromas earthy hops, hints of caramel and sweet malts. Flavours are also quite sweet and malty with lots of caramel malta and earthy resin hop notes. Has a bit of bitterness to it, not too much but just enough. Some sweetness on the palate to even things out. Quite flavourful and easy to drink.

Yet another offering from Red Racer that taste the same as every other beer they make, but at least the beer taste good. This “ESB” appears to have a clear honey brown body with a tall sticky cap. Aroma is of west coast peach hops and a sweet toffee malt, mild amounts of wet leather. Mmmmmmmm this seems to smell almost identical to their winter ale and pale ale and IPA…….mmmmmmm………Bitter taste that’s very west coast. I can kind of taste a true ESB hiding in the flavor but its very shy and doesn’t really ever come out. Hints of leather and a watery feel with massive hops is all that this really is. Where is the thick creaminess of the style, where is the bready sweetness?? Whatever they missed the mark for style with their west coast twist but it’s still an enjoyable beer I would easily drink again.

Seems like their pale ale. I cant find many discernable differences in flavour or taste. From the mixed case that I bought, poured into glasses side by side the pale and the ESB are indistinguishable. Malty, touch of english hops, british in style. Mediocre in quality. Cheap price tag makes it worthwhile. Like all red racer beers, dece for the price.
