Thanks to my ex for bringing this back from Scotland. Pours a clean orange-brown colour with a foamy beige head that is short lived. Lacing is pretty good and big bubbles are stuck all around the glass. The nose is on the malty side, with some light roasted malt, some caramel, mild fruit and a little wine. The mouthfeel is like it came out of a cask (as this beer is available in a cask). The taste is pretty smooth with the same found in the aromas, with caramel and notes of roasted malt. The aftertaste is a little nutty too. Quite a refreshing bitter that is not too punchy, but well-balanced.

Dark amberish ruby colour with mediumsized beige head. Malt and caramel in aroma. Flavour is roasted malts with sweet caramel. The roastiness is pretty deep down below. Wellbalanced though.

Usual scottish aroma of malt, but more heavily hopped than comparative styles - still much less heavily hopped than US beer, Malty sweetness to finish
