Belgian Brewing has roots back to the middle ages, when beer was brewed mainly to sanitize water and provide substance. The Belgian Golden Ale however has been around for approximately 150 years. With German lagers sweeping across Europe in the 18th century. Belgian brewers needed a response, or face extinction, and the Belgian Golden Ale was their answer. Sticking with the traditional Belgian yeast, the Golden ale is complex, with notes of sweet grain, earthy spice, and a delicious, yet subtle flavour of orange, or…maybe lemon. You decide.
