by the time we got to this one, BIU had already proven that they could do the more uninteresting styles, and do some of them quite well. what about the big boys? well, i got some of this for home. great balance between roasted malt and pruney sweetness, alcohol and hops. it's pretty heavy w/a full mouthfeel. what i expect from an imperial stout. good stuff. dang...only a few months later, it bombs. safe to say it didn't bottle or age well at all. astringent and funky. not good. still very nice on tap, but i gotta dock a few points for the drainpour. 4.1 tap...2+ bottle. i won't get a take home again.

YEAAHS!! Thats basically what i yelled out when i tasted this one. It was like trying to take down a monster in my mouth, in every sip. I loved this one, wicked heavy. Colour was dark black with a large tan head. Semi sweet and very fulfilling taste.

(thanks Stoutlover72!). Pitch black colour, minor brown head. Aroma of coffee, licorace, caramel malts and some roast. Flavour is hoppy, acidic, salt watery and roast kicking in in the aftertaste. Very unbalanced flavour. The aroma was just lovely, but whatever happened to the flavour...

Eclipse black color. Small to no head. Aroma is roasty malt, chocolate and vanilla. A medium to full bodied Russian Imperial Stout. Malts are caramel, chocolate and vanilla, with a hint of coffee. Hops are slightly bitter. Nice soft carbonation. Sooth taste. A touch roasty and slightly sweet. Somewhat understated. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is very slightly sweet.
