Tire-toé une bûche is a traditional, almost syrupy English barley wine that blends with the sweet, woody notes of the maple syrup from our forests. The hops balance the sweetish flavours of this little nectar which was created to accompany the traditional dishes served at spring sugar shacks. Brewed in England for more than a century, barley wines were made to appeal to lovers of full-bodied wines.

Pours a very slight hazed amber colour with a fizzy beige head that does not stay super long, and lacing is non-existent. Could not smell maple at first pour, but does come out a little at the second. Caramel malts and some fruits, like apples. Then, at last pour, some hops appear, but do leave to go back to the sweetness. The maple is the same in the taste, blended to the point of hard to find. A nice warming alcohol with again, apples. Maple notes do linger on the tongue, so a decent maple Barleywine that is not too rich and goes down easy.
