Thanks to PaleAleRider for the trade on this one. Pours a clean copper colour with a beige frothy head, long lasting and revealing some good lacing. Wow, nice nose for a red ale. Mild roasted malt, light grass, red apples, hints of vanilla, berries and sugars. The taste though is not the same. The hops are a little stronger, but not well-blended at first. Some rustiness, watery flavours and lingers, a little roastiness from the malts. Preferred their IPA.

Pours a fair size foamy off-white head and has a dark amber coppery appearance. Lacing is ok. Aromas of roasted and toasty malts as well as earthy hops. Flavours are roasted type malts and sweet malts. Sort of a bitter burnt malt finish. Fairly smooth and oily mouthfeel. Not too bad.
