Enjoyed at the Hautes-Plaines pub June 8, 2023. Dark brown colour with a small mocha-coloured head leaving some tiny foam lacing spots. Chocolate malt base aromas with raisin notes, hints of soya sauce, dates and anise. The alcohol does comes out with time. Slick mouthfeel, a little oily with good building dryness in the finish. The flavours are very well-blended with the roasted malts, dark fruits, liquorice, alcohol, cacao and molasses. Quite a nice Barleywine, different from the test version I had with the nitro tap, showing more character. Very nice!
