Seasonal ale, best served at 12 degrees. Our Scotch Ale does not escape the Scottish tradition. A taste of caramel accompanied with a small smoked note.

Pours a fairly big foamy bubbly off-white head that dissipates quickly to a thin layer. Has some decent lacing left over. Has a dark amber appearance. Aromas of barley malts, faint hints of scotch, rye. Flavours are somewhat similar, with scotchy notes, rye again and even some sweet malts. A little bit of alcohol is slightly noticeable.

Part of their Winter Selection Mixpack (2014). Pours a clean copper colour with a frothy beige head, decent retention and a little lace. Aromas are mild with sweet toffee, burnt roasted malts and some hoppy grass. This last one seems to disappear as the beer breathes, and metallic notes appear. Sweet tasting, but not overly. Malty mostly with the caramel mixed to the light hop finish. The roasted malt seems well balanced in there. Hints of dark fruits and spices. Not a complex Scotch ale, but an easier drinking one, which tastes better with time.
