A modern classic created with a combination of the finest, natural ingredients, time-honoured methods and Black Sheep’s unique Masham brewery. Emmerdale is the very best of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales – in a bottle. Wonderful on its own or the perfect accompaniment to meat dishes, this is a full & richly flavoured golden ale. Notice the distinctive balance between the flavours of fruity Golding variety hops, Maris Otter malted barley and demerara sugar. Strong and refreshingly long, with a dry and bitter finish.

An average Ale. Mild Aroma. Starts with a very hoppy grassy feel and goes out with bitter notes. A bit of carbination and bit acidic. Some fruit flavours on the attack. Marginal

Bottled. Coppercoloured, mediumsized white head. Aroma of hops, malts and fruit. Some sour notes also. Flavour is grassy hoppy with weak fruitish notes. This is just pure crap, just the like the crappy TV soap opera this most likely is named after...

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV on the label is 4.2%, also confirmed by the brewery website. (ABV of the cask version is also the same.) Clear amber colour, large off-white lasting head. Moderate carbonation. Moderate but pleasant hoppy aroma, hints of fruits, oak and leather. Flavour is mildly spicy and fruity, slightly acidic. Tolerable hops in the finish. Refreshing and easy drinking. Not too bad for a pasteurised moderate-ABV bitter.

Clear amber colour with a decent sized (1 cm) off white head. Slightly malty and fruity aroma. Malty and fruity taste. Hoppy and slightly stale/metallic aftertaste. Pretty good for pastuerised.
