A lederhosen wearing, bedazzled pardner strolling along the Rhine... oh and there's that rooster too. A vision born from our Brewmaster's creation in this fine Kölsch style pale ale. All natural, batch brewed with pale and Vienna malts, aged at lager temperatures... our refreshing ales is light in body and appearance, with aromas of clean malt and fruit, and a touch of noble hops. This cowboy joins the ranks of our great session beers. Rhinestone Cowboy is an ale that wants to be a lager. We use a special Kölsch ale yeast fermented at lager temperatures and leave it to mature for months.

I opened the bottle and I expected Glen Campbell to pop out and start singing. Being a fan of Glen Campbell, I would have liked that because this beer misses the point on everything else. It describes itself as a Kolsch, but has more of that blonde ale boringness attached to it. A very light gold colour with weak grainy aromas. Flavour is just not there, again, leaning towards the boring blonde ale malty style.

6-pack at The Beer Store. Pours a clean light-golden colour with a white cap disappearing rather quickly and leaving some foamy lace. Cereal grain aromas, kind of Vienna-like malts with some hops. The taste is mildly malty with citrus notes refreshing things and very light hops in the finish. Very mineral water feel overall. Nothing exceptional.
