He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head. In the realm of all that is tart and sour, Jelly King reigns supreme. Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, we decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop, harnessing the prowess of lactic acidity, and coming to a bottle near you without a pesky slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of immediate gratification. Jelly King combines bright and juicy hop aromatics with a refreshingly tart base, and is bursting with notes of fuzzy peach, tangerine, and grapefruit.

The beer pours a golden orange colour with a generous white head which collapses into a thin white ring within seconds. Lacing is non-existent. The aroma is biscuit malts, yeast, tart citrus, and light cranberry. It’s definitely citrus, but it doesn’t say ‘tangerine’ to me. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with above average carbonation. The flavour is very tart with both the cranberry and tangerine up front. Not a lot of bitterness in the finish, although it could be washed away by the tartness. -

500ml bottle that pours a hazy amber-orange colour with golden highlights. The head dissipates quickly and not much is left like most of the Jelly King beer. The tangerine citrus-fruitiness is what shines in the nose. Sourness does come out with time. Puckering sour notes do appear in the mouth, with the cranberries softening the tangerine. The finish is dry. A decent fruity-sour beer with the cranberry being undertones, but the jujube aspect coming out.
