American Stout Brewed With Cherries When a beer reaches a milestone like this, a special batch is required. Brewed with even more cherries than the original that inspired it, this version celebrates 30 years of a Bell’s classic. This version was brewed in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of our Cherry Stout, another specialty beer that was first brewed in 1988 as a nod to a local homebrew club in Kalamazoo, Michigan. It has grown to be one of the most anticipated beers we brew at the brewery every year. We brewed a version of Cherry Stout in 2001 using oak chips and cherry pits. This time around, we decided to brew with whole cherries and oak chips.

Dark pour with No head. Cherries and coffee on the nose. Tastes like cherry soda mingling roasted malt and coffee. Slightly sour with wood notes. A very big disappointment.

Pours out 100% black with no head. The mouthfeel is okay nut not thick. The aroma is definitely of cherries with a not of chocolate. There is a slight sour taste with a wood finish.

Pours rich coffee with a thick and fairly persistent tan head. Aroma gives up sweet and slightly tart cherry, roast malt, chocolate, hints of molasses and wood. Flavor presents sweet cherry, bitter oak, roast malt, chocolate, undertones of coffee and molasses. Texture offers fair body - a bit thin for a stout - but peppy fizz. Reserve a bottle whilst you can.
