Flavors of dark chocolate and fruit meld to create a full-bodied, roasty stout. A fair amount of Polaris hops lend a brightness and a nice character that will help carry the beer in its early stages making it incredibly drinkable and interesting. Malt characteristics will continue to develop over time, so that beer drinkers who choose to cellar it can enjoy the beer for years to come. This big, strong celebratory beer (11% ABV) will be released in September coinciding with our 30th anniversary celebration.

    Aroma: 10 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 10

Pours deep, warm sable with a thick chocolaty tan head. Aroma presents chocolate, roast malt, molasses, nutty, coffee, hoppy and caramel tones. Bold flavor is a fusillade of roast malt, chocolate, quality coffee, molasses, woody hops, and bits of hazelnut and horehound, plus an alcohol bite that kicks butt. Mouthfeel features viscous body and fizz to spare. What a terrific way to celebrate a 30th anniversary. May Bells reach their 40th, 50th, 60th - maybe even see the Lions win the Super Bowl.

Bottle for the rating but also draft at DoG Street Pub. Starless midnight black with a medium, dense, brown head. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, herbal notes, dark fruit and coffee int he nose. Taste is roasted malt, dark chocolate, dark, oily coffee beans, dark fruit, herbal hops and candy bar notes. Full bodied and chewy with a dense, creamy carbonation and moderate warmth. Sticky as well. Finishes with more roasted malt, dark chocolate, coffee, burnt caramel, dark fruit and light herbal hops. Better in the bottle than on draft, IMHO. Tasty!
