80 Shilling is Belhaven's classic, hand-pulled, cask-conditioned ale - just like great great great grandpa would have had. It has a classic red appearance in the glass, rich and smooth. An Austrian Emperor once described 80/- as 'the burgundy of Scotland'. Not sure how many he'd had, but the man clearly had taste. Belhaven's 80 Shilling is available in cask as well as bottle.

Casked (as Belhaven 80 shilling). Something between brown and red colour, small off-white bubbly head. Aroma is fruit, wood, some slight caramel and grass. Flavour is caramel malts, fruity hops and some wooden hints. Not much aftertaste.

Chesnut brown in colour with a massive frothy off white head. Very malty in aroma with a buttery/creamy aspect..slight nuttiness. In taste its a straight forward Scottish beer. malty as a whole..with some nuttiness and a small hop "zing". Very nice and easy on the palate. This is less sweet than many Scottish beers thus its drinkability is helped.
