A Belgian ale featuring intense tropical fruit notes from generous late-addition hopping and spicy character derived from fermentation with Belgian ale yeast. The bitterness is apparent but balanced by the fruity hops and spicy notes provided by the yeast. History & Style A Pro-Am collaboration with Joey Kilbride, Best of Show Winner of the 2012 Homebrewing Competition at the National Capital Craft Beer Week in Ottawa. Tasting Notes A complex array of aromas present themselves in this beer; tropical and citrus fruit notes (orange, unripe peach and star fruit) from the hops along with some piney inflections. Also present in the bouquet and on the palate are spicy, peppery notes and some clove intonations. The finish is clean, balanced and dry with some lingering hop character. Part of the 2013 "The Best of Beau’s 2013" 4-pack at the LCBO. The beer pours a hazed orange gold colour with a generous off-white head. Aroma of yeast, light fruit, grains and citrus are prevalent. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is yeast, grains, sugar, and citrus. Quite bitter from the citrus. -

Part of "The Best of Beau’s 2013" 4-pack at the LCBO. Pours a slight hazy golden-amber colour with a nice warm cap that is kind of creamy, with very good retention and lots of lace. Smells like a pilsner at first. All because this one has a sharp grassy hop aroma with citrus, light honey sweetness and some adjuncts found in some of the cheap swills that have high alcohol. Not smelling, nor tasting much Belgian Ale yeast. Bitter taste, but not really dry. The malty grain is quite different. Still remind me of an Impy Pils. Definitely better than the Doc's Feet Dubbel, found in the same pack (and part of the Pro-Am series), but still not something I would drink more.

At the Arrow and Loon with my better half :) Arrived with a one finger size foamy white head and has a cloudy orange amber appearance. Aromas of Belgian yeast, floral hops, light malts. Flavours are earthy hops, toffee, sweets, yeast, peaches, malts, and more... Laces the glass all around with thick patches. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel, slight bitterness but not unwelcome. Good retention. Nicely balanced. Great stuff!
