La Formidable is a 6.9% American-Belgo IPA; a relatively new hybrid beer style that crosses bold, citrusy American-style hop aromas with the signature fruity, spicy and earthy elements of Belgian yeast. The hazy golden ale exudes appetizing aromas of grapefruit and orange, along with light piney notes and white pepper. The flavour offers a firm but balanced bitterness that is complemented by citrus fruitiness. The finish is spicy with earthy undertones.

On cask at the Loon. Hazy golden colour with an amber hue. Good foamy head that lasts a long, long time. Fruity grapefruit aromas with citrus notes. Well-balanced between the sweetness and bitterness. A little more bitterness in the taste, with great citrus overall. The mouthfeel has a nice dryness to it. Quite a nice refreshing hoppy ale with some good citrus.

On tap at Arrow and Loon. Pours a good size frothy white head and has a slightly hazy, pale golden appearance. Fairly good lacing. Aromas are quite hoppy, strong fruity notes, quite yeasty as well. Flavours are nice and fruity, very sweet and strong bitter hops notes. Some hints of grapefruit. The yeasty and bitter mouthfeel lingers for quite a while. Has sort of a bubble gum like taste in the finish. Great retention.

Hazy golden pour. The head is gigantic and takes some time to pour. Good head retention and lacing. The brewers description fits the flavour well. The aroma, not so much. The taste starts fruity but as it warms the soapy, floral flavor takes over and seems to combat the spice. The long aftertaste is not that desirable.

The beer pours a hazed honey gold colour with a creamy white head. The aroma is yeast, citrus, tropical fruits, and grains. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is tropical fruit, citrus, spices, grains, and weak yeast notes.
