Tartare is a dry and tart Berliner-style wheat beer spontaneously fermented in a 2500 gallon oak vessel. One of the world’s classic sour beer styles, Tartare is Bear Republic’s interpretation of the beer style dubbed as "The Champage of the North". Tartare won a Bronze medal at the 2011 Festival of Wood and Barrel Aged Beer in the Wild Beer/Acidic category.

NOT quite as expected. This was a wild ale as much as a berliner, but succeeded either way. The Wheat shines through, as does a sopious amount of mouth puckering lemony tartness and funk. Loved every sip.
