Hibernator 2022 Wine Barrel Aged Sour Golden Ale was aged for eighteen months in Cabernet Sauvignon Barrels with lactobacillus and pediococcus, allowing the acidity and Brett character to develop. A complex and zest forward experience, this soured golden ale leaves a refreshing tartness on the pallet, offering up a bit of funk for the holiday season ahead.

Lightly hazy, golden colour with a fizzy head, disappearing quickly, leaving no lacing. Sour, Bretty aromas with some vinous notes. Grapes, puckering a bit in the taste with lots of yeast, woody, grainy aftertaste. I might be a bigger fan of Cabernet Sauvignon, than Sour beers, but I do not find this works out very well. Bring back the Imperial stouts with lots of spices and more. Not a 6.2% ABV sour-blah.
