Originally brewed at the Gribble Inn, Fursty Ferret was hugely popular, with demand by far exceeding supply and the capability of the micro brewery. This original recipe has now been researched and developed in order to meet the expressed needs of the modernist bottled ale consumer. When in decades past the idyllic country home of Miss Rose Gribble became a local inn, legend has it that the inquisitive local ferrets frequented the pub's back door on a mission to sample its own reputed brew. In their honour it was named Fursty Ferret, and today is brewed in greater quantity, so now you can enjoy the celebrated ale that still eludes the ferrets of the Gribble Inn.

Purchased at the Liquor Control Board of Ontario Store. Beer poured a slightly hazed golden brown colour with a very thin tan coloured ring for a head. The aroma was weak caramel, cereal malts, and floral hops. The flavour was sweet with caramel and malt before giving way to a bitter hoppy finish. Quite good.

Bottle from the Beer Store. Pours a fairly large foamy bubbly off-white head and has a clear golden amber appearance. Average carbonation. Lots of sticky dirty lacing. Aromas of barley malts, toasty and hints of caramel. Flavours are mostly malty, lots of bready and caramel malt notes, some nuts and subtle orange notes. Good balance between sweetness and bitterness. Smooth and slick mouthfeel. Not bad.

Really nice darkish golden color with huge white top that is really stable. Aroma is a bit weakish with hints of hops and bread. Taste is nicely strong having some sidekick of fruits and hops. Aftertaste is refreshing and good.

500 ml capped and translucent bottle. Poured in the original Badger pint a clear mid-brown coloured ale with a generous one finger beige creamy foamy head that had a very long retention and tons of micro bubbles. Mid-sized carbonation. Poor lacing. The aroma is moderate malty, faint floral hops. The flavour is sweety malts, notes of caramel, fruity, faint floral hops. The mouthfeel is crispy and a bit watery. This light bodied ale has a dry malty finish. Overall a decent averaging ale.

Ya borederline brown ale bitter... bit sweet for what I was expecting. Has more complex flavours than I expected. Wood, barnyard, touch of hay. Seems to be gently dry hopped, with a gingery aroma. Biscuity brit malts. Overall quite enjoyable

this beer pourted with a light brown body topped off by a well carbonated khaki colored head leaving little lace. The aroma is malty and sweet with no real standout characteristics. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, smooth and slightly buttery. The flavor is slightly spicey with caramel malt being the biggest contributor, finish is clean with just a touch of hoppyness.

Rerate, 500 ml brown bottle, at Cardinal, Stavanger. ABV is 4.4%. Clear and reddish brown colour, moderate white head. Aroma of malts, caramel, brittle, burnt breadcrumbs and earthy hops, hints of forest, moss and dark berries. The flavour has again malts, caramel and burnt breadcrumbs, followed by earthy hops. Bitter and roasty aftertaste. I'm upping the score a little. Original rating: 500 ml bottle, from the fridge (= too cold) at Arnie’s Coffee Bar / Bistro, Whitby. ABV was 4.4%. Brown colour, fizzy, minimal head. Reasonably hoppy aroma with some "boiled" malty notes. Brown ale flavour, some caramel and toffee. Oct. 2016: Cask half pint at The Eel Pie, Twickenham. Deep golden to copper colour, small white head. Toffee and fruity aroma. Fruity flavour, hints of currants, medium dry. Very moderate hops.
