The Poor Richard’s Ale being brewed by the Anheuser-Busch St. Louis Pilot Brewery is based on a recipe developed under the auspices of the Brewers Association, a national trade organization for small brewers. A national panel of award-winning brewers and those with an eye toward history, reviewed recipes in late September and chose a beer infused with molasses and lightened with new world corn. The winning recipe was formulated to resemble a quaff that Benjamin Franklin might have enjoyed during his lifetime. Since then, brewers all over the country have produced their own batches of this beer to have on tap Jan. 17.

    Aroma: 6 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 7 | Flavor: 6 | Overall: 6

Had this for free on tap in the Heart of Darkness. Watery compared to the Schlafly version, and the mouthfeel was was less full. Less metallic tang than the Schlafly version, yet this is just too soft on the whole. Flavor of corn and molasses, and lacking the malt. Smells of the same. Very similar to the other I've had and while good, lacks in comparison.
